I just wanted to send out a quick notice that I will be taking a short hiatus from writing for this site for a few weeks. I expect to start up again with my Q&A Friday sessions in January 2012.
In case you are wondering why, I have three words for you:
- reflect
- refocus
- recommit
I have had a great run with NewBizBlogger.com and I intend to continue it. However, after much reflection on what has worked and not worked in my business this past year, the time has come to make some changes.
I will refocusing my efforts on some other projects that I’ve really been eager to get going; one being bloggersunplugged.com where I will chat with other bloggers on their journey and the other packageyourgenius.com, which I will be focusing most of my attention.
I’m recommitting to exploring and bring forth my true gifts and using these gifts not only to build my business but to help others build theirs. It’s just the natural progressing of things.
So why am I telling you this?
The year is quickly coming to an end and although January 1, 2012 is only another day in our calendar, it is a time for many of us to step back and look at what has not been working in our lives and in business.
In order to grow as an entrepreneur, you have to be willing to ask yourself the tough questions and see where you have been stopped that is reflecting in your business efforts. If something is not going the way you have planned, I promise you it’s something you are doing, or rather not doing.
Taking responsibility is the key to moving forward. I recently wrote about this very thing in an article I wrote on YoungEntrepreneur.com titled Are You Ready To Doing What It Takes? I urge you to read it. It is a realization that has allowed me to shift how I think and act in my business and I hope my experiences will help you make that shift as well.
I will continue to guest post, tweet, facebook, blog hop and do all those other fun things, so don’t count me out. On the contrary, count me in! Because 2012 will be a transformational year for me, my business and those who decide to come along for the ride.
Much love and success!
P.S. I will still be available if you need to contact me. As well as my Shop and Programs will still be available if you would like to look into furthering your online business training.

Good luck sounds like you have quite a few different projects in the works, and I know how that goes.
Thanks Justin. I sure you know EXACTLY how that goes.
I will keep you posted. I hope to have you as one of my guests on bloggersunplugged???? Should you find the time of course.
It’s a deal, just send me an email when you want me to do it, I will make the time. Also whatever you prefer me to write about.
It actually will be in 90% podcast & 10% video format. So no need to write, just be you and be willing to say it as it is.
I’ll be emailing bloggers the first week of Jan with a basic format and hope to start scheduling spots. Hopefully you’ll be down with shooting the breeze via audio.
Michele, This is a fantastic idea and I commend you for being brave enough to do this. Over the next few weeks, most of us are distracted by the holidays and end-of-the-year stuff. So, your timing is perfect. I should do the same thing!
Hi Sherryl,
Oddly enough I had not planned it this way, just got lucky with the timing I guess.
When you’re ready to make a change, you’re ready. You should consider it. I think you’re right. This is a perfect time to reflect and refocus. With many people focused on other things, I don’t expect it would have that much of an impact. Just probably slightly in your Alexa numbers… which is no big deal.
Hey, maybe we should come up with Bloggers Holiday. Every one takes off a week from blogging. LOL
Good luck!
Hey Michele,
Wishing you every success with the new projects. It’s exciting when you finally find that space to explore new ideas, it really does reinvigorate how you feel about your business, don’t you think?
Look forward to seeing your new babies take their first steps.
Have a fantastic Christmas
Thanks Jackie. It is exciting times for me and my business. And all is just based on one thing… making a decision.
I will definitely keep you posted. Expecting to hear some more great things from you for 2012 as well.
Hey Michelle,
Glad to see you are doing well and have lots of plans coming up. A short break is good and i can see you will be recharge with new energy for a brand new 2012. All the best to your new projects.
Thanks Lye. It’s a much needed time to refocus and redefine my goals with my business. I expect my new ventures will come effortlessly… as it should be.
Thanks for stopping in. It’s a been a while. Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday!
It is a sad day in the blogging world Michele. Sniff
I’ve always enjoyed your posts and I’ll miss visiting
your blog. Of course I’m happy to hear of your other ventures and I’m sure they will be of great success.
Go get’em tiger
All the best Michele and I know you will be successful in the next step of your journey. You taking the time to reflect and refocus is a great example of what to do instead of just keeping on doing the same old thing.
That’s exactly it Susan! It’s easy to get caught up in doing the same thing expecting different results.
Much more difficult to take a step back and acknowledge what hasn’t been working and start trying new things. Talk about shaking things up, huh?
Thanks for the kind and supportive words… it’s something I truly appreciate and it’s very telling about the person you are and what you are up to in life.
Hope that your break will bring more inspiration, new creative ideas and thoughts!
I think you are very much clear with the vision and its implementation. Go ahead………
Thanks. Yes clarity can all the difference.
Take care and God bless for your upcoming projects Michele. I wish you all the best. I hope you can do the best that you can.
Timely post for me Michele, since I’ll be taking a holiday blogging break myself starting next week, and I wrote about the subject this week.
I’m glad you are being introspective and determining what’s best for you. We all need to do that, and I find taking some time away from the Internet — and blogging — is a great way to do it.
Hi Michelle, I find the end of a year a great way to start a new one, to push the reset button. It’s like moving out of an old house, refreshing but full of sentiment.
