What’s Up With NewBizBlogger

Wow! It’s been a whirlwind of a week here at NewBizBlogger.  Coming off the weekend from the Rich, Happy & Hot Conference I was in full effect and ready to conquer the world. OK, that sounds a bit like world domination…but you get the idea. ;-)

Here’s the power of determination.  In a weeks time I’ve landed two clients, did my first podcast interview with Keith Bloemendaal from HotBlogTips.com AND created my first face-to-face video!  So here it goes…

PLEASE HAVE MERCY ON ME. IT’S MY FIRST VIDEO AND TODAY’S CONVERSATION IS ABOUT STEPPING OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE AND TAKING RISKS!

Also, I did recording of my video via webcam… not the best quality, but I think I get my message across.

Article Picks Of The Week

thumbs-upWriting Goddess Danielle LaPorte guest posted for Marie Forleo last week when she wrote an amazing article called Radical Practical. She speaks of P.A.S.S.I.O.N on how it “qualifies you to do great things”. But passion is not enough … you also need strategy.  If you do nothing else, check out this article. Her words will feed your personal and professional soul.

Your passion qualifies you to do great things ~Danielle LaPorte

I recently stumbled upon this lady and think she’s fantastic!  Jenny is a “graphic designer, photographer, skateboarder, writer, entrepreneur, world traveler, and student of life”.  AWESOME!  She wrote an article titled ‘Defining Moments From 27 Awesome Bloggers‘ that knocked my socks off!  Every blogger she mentions is better than the next.  She writes like a poet and looks like an angel. It’s a dam long article but worth the read.  So grab a cup of coffee and head over.

My defining moment came six months ago as I was walking home with my kids and it hit me like a ton of bricks.  My journey to find my life’s passion was finally over!  I had found it in the creation of NewBizBlogger… a powerful place to be and a life changing moment.

Let me ask you…what has been your defining moment?

Social Networking News & Tools

Facebook email homepage

There’s been a lot of buzz lately about the new Facebook email. With this system you can get messages, chats, and text all in one interface.  They’ve created a central hub, if you will, for all your Facebook communication.

They are rolling out this new system gradually but to be considered you will have to request an invitation.  You also have other options such as inviting friends to upgrade by clicking on ‘Invite Friends’,  forwarding messages, removing yourself from conversations, adding someone to a conversation, and much more!

For a full list of FAQ’s check out http://www.facebook.com/about/messages/#!/help/?topic=new_messages

So what do you think?  Is the new Facebook email system hot or not?

On The Search For The Best Community

Still on my search but I realized there is no “perfect” community.  It’s what YOU make of it! Every week I’ve been showcasing a different one and this week I thought I give a special mention to Kimberly Castleberry’s Facebook Page.  Kimberly and I have recently connected and after visiting this page realized that she’s built a nice community and definitely worth looking into.

OK, its settled now, I am never going to watch your videos ever again, unless, drums rolling pls………. it is face to face. Who cares about a writing Goddess anyway when we can all have a Video Goddess (with all due respect of course), wooot, lol. Now when will I ever be able to “get” out of my comfort zone, I don’t know yet but maybe soon.

OK, now that I got that out of my system, seriously, this is another great “wrap up” and ohh, almost forgot.. the video quality is not so, so good (good nonetheless), but it got your message across.

    • Michele says:

      Hi Ileane,

Thanks so much for the compliment and the support! You know how it is … we are always so much more critical of ourselves than others are of us.

      Thanks again! Talk soon. :-)

  7. Pat says:

What a great topic Michele, I know I am guilty of hiding and holding myself back that is also one of the reasons why I have not made a video showing my face also, thanks for the reminder and the push to move foward

    • Michele says:

      Hi Pat,

Thanks so much for stopping by! It’s so great to hear from you. :-) Girl you have such a beautiful face… don’t hide it!! And don’t hide out! You’re capable of more than you know … just take the first step and soon you’ll be wondering what was the big deal in the first place. ;-)

Hope to see you again soon. Ciao!

      Hi Dan,

Yes it’s been crazy, but great! Don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon. ;-)

Thanks for stopping in…always great to hear from you

  9. Bryan says:

    Hey Michelle,

Great video there! You know everyone gets the jitters when they do something different. I remember posting a video on my blog and someone said something about background noise and I was like…crap… but then I took it as a lesson learned. Will remove those noise. I think you did a great job there although I think you should fit the screen to your video size :D

Oh saw Jenny’s blog too and visited Keith’s blog too. Awesome links there Michelle. Great share! :)

    • Michele says:

      Hi again Bryan ;-)

Yeah, have to work on the video quality. I actually have a Kodak ZI8 which is great! The video was a spur of the moment, last minute thing so didn’t bother to set it up. Next one. ;-)

Take care Bryan and thanks for your feedback!!
